Finn and the Friendly Shadows

Finn loved his snug little room with his soft blue blanket. But every night, when the big light went off, the shadows made him wiggle under his covers. A tall, spiky shadow stretched across his wall. Finn's tummy did a little flip-flop.

He took a deep breath, in and out, just like his teacher taught him. 'I can be brave,' Finn whispered to himself. He switched on his soft night lamp and looked closer at the shadow. It was only his coat, hanging quietly on its hook!

Then Finn spotted long, curly shapes creeping near his window. He giggled when he saw they were just his leafy plant, swaying gently. A round shadow with pointy bits sat by his bookshelf. Finn smiled it was only his favourite toy dinosaur, waiting for morning.

Even the tall shadow by his door was friendly. It was just his bookshelf, stacked with all his favourite stories.

Finn felt his tummy settle, soft and calm. The shadows were not scary monsters they were just his ordinary things, wearing funny nighttime shapes.

He hugged his fluffy toy rabbit close and snuggled deeper into his blanket. 'Goodnight, coat. Goodnight, plant,' he whispered happily.

Dad peeked around the door with a warm smile. 'All tucked in, brave Finn?' he asked softly.

Finn nodded and yawned a big, sleepy yawn. 'The dark isn't scary anymore,' he said proudly.

Dad kissed his forehead and switched the night lamp to its gentle glow. 'Sweet dreams, my brave boy,' he whispered.

Finn closed his eyes, cosy and calm, with his shadows standing guard like quiet friends. He drifted off to sleep, safe and brave until morning.
